Saskatchewan Hydroponics Club Inc. is pleased to recognize the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) for its $1,000 sponsorship in support of the Growing Food, Growing Skills: Community Hydroponics Education Initiative.
SIGA’s support will help provide supplies, seeds, growing media, printed materials, and workshop resources for hands-on hydroponics education programs in Regina, including Kratky 101, Newcomer and Household Food Skills Cohorts, and the School Hydroponics Partnership Program.
“We are grateful to SIGA for supporting this initiative,” said Dr. Chidi Igwe, Director of Saskatchewan Hydroponics Club Inc. “This contribution will help us provide practical food-growing education that connects healthy living, sustainability, and community learning.”
The initiative helps youth, families, newcomers, Indigenous community members, and residents facing social or economic barriers learn affordable indoor and small-space food-growing methods.
Saskatchewan Hydroponics Club Inc. is also accepting registrations for its upcoming Kratky 101 program, scheduled for August 1 to September 26, 2026, in Regina.
Kratky 101 is a beginner-friendly, eight-week program that teaches participants how to grow fresh vegetables using the simple, low-cost Kratky hydroponic method. Participants will learn how to prepare containers, mix nutrients, transplant seedlings, monitor plant growth, and start a small growing project at home, in a classroom, or in a community setting.
